Excellent mountain biking trails and eight golf courses are nearby, along with zip lining, quad biking and zorbing to name just a few of the myriad of activities available. Water sports are available at nearby Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey. Slightly further afield you will find the Landmark Forest Adventure Park at nearby Carrbridge, the Highland Wildlife Park and Highland Folk Museum both based just a few miles south of Aviemore. For the train enthusiast, watch the Strathspey steam train slowly pass through the town and surrounding countryside.
