Greenfields Lodge (UKC3820) and Welsh Cottage (29674) adjoin one another and are conveniently located in a friendly village within easy reach of Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton, close to the popular nearby villages of Droxford, Wickham, Bishop’s Waltham and the Meon Valley. Greenfield Lodge is a lovely spacious family home with a large lawned garden and parking, and Welsh Cottage forms a wing of the main house which is completely self contained with its own patio garden and allocated parking.
Centrally located in the delightful village of Swanmore, the house is directly opposite the butcher and general store which sells local produce, and next to the village primary school.

The friendly local pub serving great food and local beer is less than 5-minutes’ walk. For golf lovers and walkers there are plenty of places to choose from. Both properties offer well presented and comfortable holiday accommodation, they are ideal for couples or families and accept pets. For extended family, why not book both properties together? Each property has allocated parking (2 spaces for Welsh Cottage and 4 for Greenfields Lodge), or there is additional roadside parking and a village car park a few minutes’ walk away.
There is so much to discover in this lovely part of Hampshire. Explore the South Downs National Park with numerous walking and cycling routes including the nearby Wayfarers Walk, a 70-mile trail running from Inkpen Beacon to the coastal town of Emsworth, The Meon Valley Railway Line accessed from Droxford, or Beacon Hill which can be accessed at Exton. Nearby Wickham has a lovely friendly feel, and its annual festival held every August, brings the local community together. Nearby is Bishop’s Waltham, a popular medieval market town with interesting places of interest such as the 12th century ruins of Bishop’s Waltham Palace, the museum and Roman church. The naval city of Portsmouth is easy to reach with its historic dockyard and ships including Nelson’s Victory and The Mary Rose. Other Portsmouth attractions include Gunwharf Quays, with Spinnaker Tower, designer shopping outlets and leisure complex along with ferry trips to the Isle of Wight.
The beautiful historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester are both within about half an hour’s drive. Southampton with West Quay Shopping Centre, and The New Forest, with its miles of open heathland and roaming ponies, is about 40 minutes’ drive. There is excellent fishing along the Meon and Test Valleys too, and for keen golfers, there are many courses within the area. Sandy beaches can be found at Hayling Island, or slightly further, the ever popular sandy dunes of West Wittering, also Hill Head and Lee-on-the-Solent.
Other popular places to visit include The Mid Hants Railway - ’Watercress Line’ with its steam trains, Jane Austen’s house, The Gilbert White Museum at Selborne, Marwell Zoo, Paultons Park (with Pepper Pig World) and Birdworld.
