Hidden down a private road, only a 10-minute drive from the popular Georgian town of Richmond, The Paddock is the perfect hideaway for couples and small families. A quirky and unique property, The Paddock is a small, detached lodge that has been thoughtfully furnished and decorated. Comfortable, cosy and full of charm, the property is all on the ground floor and offers a well presented living room with a coal-effect fire, and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen/dining room with French doors leading to the garden. The double bedroom boasts a TV and an en-suite shower room, the twin bedroom is well-presented and offers a TV, and there is also a family bathroom. An enclosed garden can be found to the rear of the property and offers the perfect spot to sit out and enjoy some al fresco dining.
Perfect for walkers, cyclists and sports enthusiasts, the property lies on the famous Coast to Coast Cycle Route which is popular with guests of all ages. There are also many established public footpaths that lead away from the property and out towards Richmond, Middleton Tyas, Catterick Village, Smeaton and beyond. Within easy reach you will find many historic houses and National Trust properties which really are worth a visit, as is the fantastic Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is within easy driving distance.
The property is ideal if you want to spend a day at the races with Catterick Racecourse being only 3 miles away. Much closer, and only a 10-minute drive from the property, you will be able to enjoy all of the attractions of Richmond. Full of history and great architecture, the cobbled streets of Richmond offer top quality restaurants, bistros, coffee shops, art galleries and a small cinema. There is a farmer’s market which takes place on occasion in the cobbled market square. There are numerous tourist attractions to visit, including the historic castle that stands high on the hill and overlooks the thriving town below. The property is in the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding area and visit one of the many pretty Yorkshire towns and villages including Thirsk, Ripon, Yarm, Northallerton and Leyburn. There is even the opportunity to visit one of the dazzling Yorkshire beaches at the seaside town of Whitby and the glorious Robin Hood’s Bay.
