Nestling on the edge of the South Downs on a rural 100-acre working sheep and grass farm, this detached, holiday barn conversion offers character features throughout and makes an ideal base from which to explore the area, with the South Downs National Park within easy reach. Mount Pleasant Barn is situated on the Vanguard Way, part of a 66 mile walk, with the stretch from Chalvington to Newhaven offering views of the Litlington White Horse carved on the chalk hillside, the Cuckmere River and breathtaking views of the iconic Seven Sisters on the Sussex coast. Visit Charleston Farmhouse, associated with The Bloomsbury Group and was also the country home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. Other sights of interest include The Monks House at Rodmell, home to Virginia Woolf (National Trust) and Berwick Church, which is Grade I listed and contains original murals and paintings by The Bloomsbury Group. Discover Middle Farm which promotes the excellence of British farming and offers a range of family activities or Blackberry Farm where riding lessons are also offered. Visit Brighton, Eastbourne, Seaford and Ashdown Forest, all within a short drive. For transport links, Berwick Station is a 10-minute drive and provides good access to London and the Gatwick Express, there are also trains to Eastbourne and Brighton. Lewes is also nearby and is a popular tourist town linked with London. Bike hire and canoe hire for exploring the River Cuckmere are available locally.
