Higher Farm is well located in the quiet, picturesque village of Martin within a conservation area and on the edge of Martin Down National Nature Reserve. These two single-storey barn conversions, adjoining one another, were formerly the saddle room and stables for the small farm and have been transformed into very comfortable holiday accommodation with a modern, light and airy feel. The village of Martin is set in an area known as Cranborne Chase and the West Wiltshire Downs, an AONB. The village has its own small, community-run shop which opens twice a day on week days (9am-11am and 5pm-6pm) and once in the morning on Saturdays (9am-12pm). The medieval city of Salisbury, 8 miles, has its famous cathedral spire and close, individual shops, pubs and restaurants, a theatre and a cinema which is housed in the old wool market. The New Forest and the small market town of Fordingbridge are 6 miles away. Fordingbridge is known for its famous medieval stone bridge with its fine arches; it boasts plenty of shops, pubs and cafés and there are excellent walks along the river.
Shop 6 miles, pub 3 miles.
