Gellfechan is a traditional stone terraced cottage at Trawsfynydd in the Snowdonia National Park. The village has a local shop and pub and the nearby Trawsfynydd lake is popular for fishing, cycling and walking. The lakeside cafe also now has bike and canoe hire. Trawsfynydd is 10 miles from Dolgellau and Blaenau Ffestiniog and 12 miles from Porthmadog.
This is a great spot from which to explore Snowdonia with, for the more active, plenty of local walking, mountain biking at the Coed y Brenin forest and Antur Stiniog in Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you will also find the very popular Zip World Titan and Bounce Below underground trampolines! For a more restful experience both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways are within a short drive, as is the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion. The nearest beach at Borth y Gest and the castles at Criccieth and Harlech are all within half an hour's drive.
