The popular seaside resort of Ventnor is a lively town with various shops, eateries, cafes and pubs, it also has attractive Victorian architecture, a popular sand/shingle beach and a promenade serving freshly caught fish.
The picturesque village of Bonchurch is close by, famous for its literary visitors including Charles Dickens and George Bernard Shaw, and has a quieter unspoilt beach, café and historic church. Discover places of interest locally, including Ventnor Botanic Gardens and Isle of Wight Studio Glass. Slightly further afield, Blackgang Chine and the spectacular rock formations of The Needles, as well as pretty thatched villages such as Old Shanklin and Godshill. Other attractions include sailing at Cowes, a donkey sanctuary, museums, Isle of Wight Pearl, a zoo and a castle. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy excellent walking along the heritage coastline, cycling, watersports, sailing, fishing and golf.
