Ideally located above the eastern shore of Lake Windermere in a superbly peaceful half acre sylvan setting of mature trees and beautiful evergreen shrubs, Bowfell Cottage was built just over 100 years ago in Lakeland stone to a traditional design of Swiss origin from the nineteenth century and presents a most attractive gabled appearance.
Anne Tomlinson became the resident owner over 30 years ago and shortly afterwards began to welcome guests and tourists.
Particularly ideal for those wishing to leave the stresses of urban life behind for a refreshing and comfortable stay in the friendly environment of a well appointed cottage with an emphasis on good home cooking set in the midst of this charming countryside generally accepted as a most beautiful corner of England.

“To take a short walk from the cottage at sunset with views unfolding across the lake and sylvan countryside to the western fells beyond is a reward in itself of spectacular beauty second to none.”

All 3 bedrooms include high quality beds and complimentary refreshments. The en-suite double room boasts an open-garden aspect, pinewood furnishing and solid wood floor. Fully-tiled shower in seperate en suite room with facilities.

The family room is a lovely south-west facing room with pleasant garden aspect. It contains 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Z-type bed available to accommodate a family of 4.
